Mounds Hires Jonathan Stowe as Mounds Eagles Head Football Coach

Mounds Public Schools has announced the hiring of Jonathan Stowe as Mounds Eagles Head Football Coach, Assistant Athletic Director, Boys Track and Head Powerlifing Coach.

Stowe joins Mounds from Hominy Public Schools, where he has served as a History teacher since 2018. He has also served as the Defensive Coordinator of the Hominy Bucks, Middle School Head Football Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Track Coach.

Stowe graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Northeastern State University. He is completing his 17th year of teaching and coaching at districts including Cleveland, Dewey and Hominy Public Schools. This year he earned his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University.

Stowe has 8 playoff appearances, including 2 state semi-final appearances and has coached multiple All-District, All-Star and All-State players on both sides of the ball. As the head of the middle school program Coach Stowe has an overall record of 32-10 for the last 5 years. He also serves as a state judge for powerlifting and has previously had multiple state placers, qualifiers and a Junior High Powerlifting Team Championship.

 “We are excited to introduce Jonathan Stowe to the Mounds Community as the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Football Coach,” said MPS Superintendent, Stephen Sturgeon. “Coach Stowe’s desire to be a part of Mounds and further build our football and educational programs are what will make him an asset to our students and community.”

Jonathan and his wife, Suzanne, are the proud parents of daughter Ella (1st grade) and son Baker (4.5 months).
